Is there anyone else building the MMB Los Angeles class sub?

I'd be interested to compare notes about fitting the rear 'planes if so....

It's a standard cruciform rig. What seems to be the issue, alignment?

No, it's all hooked up and working, bit fiddley inside that tail cone though, caused a couple of ''gosh n' bothers''.

I just wondered how other people did theirs, but it looks as though there aren't any others....

I'd stay clear of the 1/96th scale attack boats then- tighter than ducks doo-daa in the stern!

I'm not 100% sure as to what scale the LA is....at a guess, around 1/80th ish. It would have been so much easier if the hull was made to split completely along the centre line(like the Sheerline Akula)instead of having the last 2.5" or so left on the stern.

Getting the propshaft, the shaft support, the rear vanes and the two rudders all fitted and hooked up in there is a job for those with fingers like ET....I have fingers like a jumbo sausage.

(ignore the two brass nuts on the rear vane shaft, they are there as temporary spacers)
