40MHz airmodule
« on: December 09, 2011, 06:12:32 pm »

Hi everyone,

While I was living/working in France, I bought a 40/41MHz 'air'module for my JR388S Tx, (at the time 35MHz was not allowed for air use and they use 40/41MHz instead).

Now then, some of the channels/frequencies available on my 40MHz synth module are legal in the UK - but not all.  I'm not sure if the same rules for 35MHz modules/Txs made in Germany apply, (Germany uses a different set of extended channels of that band to the UK), but they are legal for use in the UK as it requires a 'positive decision and selection' to use those other channels.

My question is;

If I only use the (UK) legal frequencies within the 40MHz band, would I be 'legal' within the regulations??

The module is CE marked, so it does comply with all relevant EU regulations.

Whatever your answer can you give a link to the reasons why please.

Many thanks,

Mark.

From what I understand via the MPBA - yes you are legal. You might find this site of value and maybe can ask your question there.

Thanks Barrie :-))  I'll check them out.

Now a follow on request :-)

Does anyone know where I can get a JR NET J40P module - MacG's no longer stock them and I can't find any in the shops {:-{

The same 40/41mhz Synth transmitters are sold in the UK, so should be perfecly legal.

Just had a reply from Fred Body over at the UKRCC site, and he confirms what Barrie and Mankster said :-))

(as long as I only use UK channels)

I only asked as I realise 2.4's no use if I decide on a sub :kiss:

Thanks guys :-))
