First Fleet Convict stock here  O0, & I flew to this Port on 20 December 1985 only to find my vessel strike bound in an Archipelago of beautiful bluish turquoise water........it took a 2 hour Tug Boat voyage to join the vessel at anchor ....day time temperatures were about 45 degrees C & the beer I found on board was Kirin & Asahi...however sufficient :P to quench a thirst

However on 14 January 1699, an earlier voyage commenced from a far off distant Land  .......this will answer any questions...................

No not Esperance,......nor Fremantle & Rottnest

For older Australians, in 1985 McRobertson Miller flew Foker F28 Jets in the west :-))...beautiful aircraft & Iám pretty sure we called into Esperance on the milk run leg back down to Perth a week later

Just back tracking....my work was complete, the 100,000 vessel main engine could now be controlled as per design by the Woodward governor amplifier pump revision [the Singaporean engineers destroyed it in dock a few weeks earlier]

The vessel was a P Boat...the Australian Prospector....one of four P named vessels ordered by the Whitlam Government for the Australian National Line...unfortunately on completion no charter work could be found for them so they sat anchored in the fjords of Norway until charter work could be found

No we did not call into Esperance on the milk run back down to Perth...but the F28 just zoomed up....then zoomed down....landed & zoomed up again all the way back down the coast.......[must have been too many of the Asahi beers waiting for the tug for the 2 hour lift back to shore]
