All of the weather forecasts for that area tomorrow look fair to good. Boat is finished and so I hope to see you all tomorrow.
BTW did you know that "kettering" is defined as the imprint left on the buttocks after sitting naked in a wicker chair? Not a lot of people know that............
Dave M

That's unfair to the wicker chair! {-) {-) {-)  I can say that I was born in Kettering!
See you tomorrow   :-))

That squall was something else! whilst hanging on to Ron Deans marquee, our gazebo took to the train track, leaving the boats exposed to the torrential rain. There was more water in my Marwina after that than I get sailing in choppy conditions. Took me 30 mins and half a roll of paper towel to dry it out.

Apart from that a great day, looking forward to tomorrow and the tropical heat (rainforest that is)  %% %%

Remind me has there ever been a completely dry weekend?

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to thank Martin for a great day out, squalls and all. Del and I survived the wetting, who ordered that weather front <*<

It was really great  catching up with fellow mayhemers and thankyou for your kind comments on my new Asd tug ( Mustang Mark ). I nickname it my 'Christmas tree tug'. Oh before I forget thanks to Phil (steamboat) for the BBQ it was a shame as Del said we couldn't partake in some of the strange brews as we had the drive back last night :((

I hope the weather holds up for you all today and don't forget to put on your sun cream  8)

i arrived Friday and set up and had a few quiet beers with the boys .
then got up and had the wettest day of my life . but one of the best !
it was really nice to see some old faces and put a face to names of the new ones i met ..

just like to say a massive thank you to Klunk, Stavros,  steam boat Phil, Martin , the Scottish contingency, and a few others who i forget their names for probably the best model show i have attended

also i would like to apologize for trying to sexually assault the Scottish boys ... but then that's your own fault for being so friendly with me :-)

cant wait for next year !
 :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

top weekend with a top bunch of guys !

Well another perfect Mayhem......what I can I say....we have seen it all (and I do mean all. O0 ) from the great display of all the old style battleships ( poor Ron Dean tying to herd cats to get a good picture) flying gazebos, aliens ( %% ) my boat running straight. :embarrassed:a slight rain squall, my boat running straight ...again, sunny evenings......BBQ, and I do believe a couple of wee drams from our nice chums from Glasgow....and the ground was soft that's why I was woobly.....(Phil not running straight  %% )
Many thanks to all the Wicksteed guys who helped to make this surely the best model boating weekend, and of course our glorious leader, who's shirts seem to have been hidden away..(for the moment)and not to forgetting the most important of all our leaders lovely wife and daughter, Ruth and Gina who kept us all supplied with tea and coffee and brekkie this morning, you are stars.....
Great to catch up with all mayhemers and meet new ones, and Ian and I have an idea for one of my straight runners for next year (and I don't mean blow it up )so be warned..... :D
Hope all got home safe and catch up with everyone soon....
Oh and Jay Dee.....I survived tonight with boys from the North........just
And Larry.....that was Stav's straight running course  {-)

Another fun weekend! Special thanks to Martin, Ruth and Gina for all their hard work. What with flying gazeboes, "the 2014 incident" and pyrotechnics- it was excellent entertainment! Good to meet you all again. Here's to 2015!

:-)   Morning all!   :-)

Well, sort of awake now,  so I've started uploading the videos to Utube .....
... 70+ files, 11+Gigs or video and 1,603 photos... !
I was sitting with Ian yesterday, chatting and snapping away and a camera battery ran out;
I said; 'damn the battery's dead!',
Ian said, 'not "blinking" surprised with all the photos you're taking! [or the substance!]

Another fantastic weekend with LOTs of new memories to made and lots to laughs had.
Dunno about anyone else but had a great time and my cheeks are still sore from all the smiling and laughter!

A Huge thanks to the Wicksteed Park model boat club who do so much to get the lake ready and  put the show on, Nick, Steve, Nigel, Paul, Maureen and ALL the other I didn't get names of... and in particular the Bar B Q girls! Nice new marquee this year, very posh... and strong! Tony, "Kasuga"!! The man has a joke, pun, anecdote, a quote for everything!

BIG 'shout  out' and thanks too to SteamboatPhil. who doesn't know the meaning of the words 'No', 'can't', 'won't', 'too tired', 'haven't got one', 'one shot is enough for me' etc. etc. Again thanks Phil for ALL the equipment you bring every year and your unbounded enthusiasm., Thanks for leaning him out Steph!

Stavros, Kelly & Catherine. Great troopers. "What's a little rain?!"
Stav was everywhere all the time as usual helping and rescuing and setting up and fixing and repairing and "yeah?!" all weekend. The man doesn't have an 'off switch!', how does he do it?!

Klunk aka Pete on weekdays. Boundless fun and enthusiasm, sun & moon & wind & rain... and a ferry crossing Sunday afternoon! We must get you a set of waders that fit you for next year!

Bill (D203): one of the few sane mind amongst the chaos.

Thanks to Big Bang Ian for the fireworks. We're planing something even nosier for next year!

The Scottish Liberal drinking party for the evening entertainment

Ron and Andy for ( Dean's Marine & Models by Design ) Traders beyond the call of duty.

All the clubs that willing came and challenged the infamous weather to do it's worse.... and it did!

To ALL the Model Boaters and Mayhemers that came, ran their boats and conquered! - Hats off to you!!

I'm sort of 'tea total' so have never had a hang over but I guess this is what it feels like!.....  O0

( Usual disclaimer: I know I've forgotten to mention some very important helpers and providers - please jog my memory... )
