hi all, I've had this very old battleship on the shelf for ages  she is in  bad condition and i think fit for the bin...out of curiosity can anyone identify her. Apologies for pic quality shes made from wood with a outer layer of very thin tin many thanks

looks like a bit of a freelance design.It must be a battleship because of the secondary armement,and the turret shape seems to be the german shape rather than british.Dont bin it! it would make a grand model if time was spent on it.If you could post a couple more photos,showing the whole length of the model,it would help identifying her.

that is some fairly modern electrics in there,so looks like it may have been used! I would still like to see a photo of the full length of the ship please.the one you have taken close to the microwave,just move a bit futher away with your camera so you get the whole boat in?

Please don't throw that one out. I think its a model of HMS Tiger from WW1. The turret layout is a give away as is the secondary armament, albeit there should be three funnels. As an alternative she just could be IJN Kongo which has the same layout.
 
I think if it's made of tin it is actually very rare indeed

it does have a very thin outer skin of very thin tin with a wooden  under skeleton also the main guns are on a  set up were they all turn  useing handset i will borrow a better camara and take better pics

Definitly a keeper that Mr Ferry. Tiger was a lovely battlecruiser. Hopefully the hull plates have no tin worm to deal with.

It is a term used by those who restore old vehicles and describes the effect of rust/corrosion on the body panels.
It is the bane of the restorer as he/she then has to have new bits or whole panels made to replace the old ones. In your case it would be limited to discolouration as otherwise you would have mentioned the holes!

hi all just a update on the battleship .... shes 44 inches long  by 7 inches wide  i appologise  but i carnt up load better pics . as far as i can see .... no tinworm regards paddy

Sounds like she is about 1:192 scale, so she will be a gorgeous model when completed. I envy you Paddy. Good luck with your project.
