Servo Creep
« on: November 03, 2015, 12:18:02 am »

Hi I have just wired 2 servos up both worked okay but I wanted one to turn the other way so I put a servo reverse in line when I tried them they worked okay but then the 1 with the servo reverse started to creep and return to its central position. Changed TX and RX still the same changed the servo reverse still the same any ideas?

Thanks John

You've changed the Tx, Rx and servo reverse units so the only thing remaining is the servo. If that doesn't sort it then I'd venture that the reverse unit is likely to be a flawed design - or you've just bought two "Friday afternoon" ones.

Swap the two servos over - if the problem goes with the servo reverse unit, but more importantly no longer affects the one that was originally reversed, logic says that the reverser is where the problem lives.

Hi changed the servo over still the same then took a servo reverse from another pair of small servos that works okay on them and still had a problem. So 3 servo reverse units and 2 servo and still got a problem. If you wire them up together no problem so it looks like the make of servos do not like servo reversers they are Intelligent ones.

Do you mean the servos are "digital"? If so then I'm not surprised. Those little devils have a mind of their own - quite literally - and don't respond well to anything fitted between them and the receiver except a gyro, which is what they were developed for. The P96 ServoMorph just sat and looked at me when I tried it with a digital servo. Try a standard non-digital servo instead.

Not when you have the two servos plugged into the same channel. They will both rotate in the same direction unless you fit a reverser in the connection to one of them.
