Hand of fate?
« on: May 13, 2018, 01:19:31 pm »

I think Carl Tunnicliffe put a curse on me {-) The other week when he mentioned his laser tube had blown and I commiserated. Well cutting last night my laser beam got weaker and weaker, no the CO2 tube was fine.

The flyback transformer  in the power supply unit  that generates the 50.000v (50kV) to charge the laser tube has given up the ghost. A new transformer is only £19 but just my luck nobody has one, leaving me to purchase a full power supply unit for 60 quid {:-{

I've got one of them (electric of course), I think its called old school :} But I find with the laser its far easier and way much neater to get windows and joints perfect in one go instead of shoving filler in  %%
