Printed veneer/ply to
simulate a planked
deck on a yacht 1 metre

Couldn't see any ready printed on their website,
hence asking if anyone knows of any I can get
without having to draw the planking myself.

SLEC do a variety of scale deck planking sheets. Quite pricy but maybe worth it.

A bit pricey methinks.
Might have to sharpen my pencil a few times.

There is another option I use sometimes which is to print lines onto cream colour cartridge paper and then use sanding sealer or polyurethane varnish to stick and seal it to the deck. It's a bit like laying veneer and the sealer/varnish impregnates the paper to bond it to the deck. A couple of coats on top and you have a waterproof surface.

The late Dicky D's Wife Gillian made me a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet which just prints parallel lines and of course can be enlarged or reduced to suit the line width you want. PM me your email if you want to try it.

You have to add the butt joints in yourself. Obviously not as good as a properly planked deck but it doesn't look bad.

The photo shows it on my 1:150 scale liner project but I am printing wider lines for my 1:48 scale paddler.

Dicky and I did not always see eye to eye but we were often able to help each other and it was really nice of Gillian to provide such a useful item.

If its an excel sheet then the butt joints can be added to the sheet as well, each CELL has 4 sides, if the sheet has a border on the top and bottom or conversely on the left and right then the top or bottom (left and right) border can be added to specific cells to represent the butt joint, offsetting the butt joint by a set number of cells, so they dont seem to have started at the same point and the distance between the butt joints, maintained by having the same number of cells between each butt joint along the planks length
