Crew hello I sold a model overseas a small tug boat about 800 mm long I told Jeff the new owner I would make a box to ship it in , so I knocked up a ply wood box screwed the model down on it's stand, and secured it with a couple of rubber bands so not to shift about , added some soft sponge fore and aft and right along both sides of the box proctecting the model very secure lol , then I filled the box to the brim with BEAN BAG Beans under the hull first then the stern and then just filled the box up covering the model couple of good shakes to settle down the bean bag beans and screwed the lid down , I included some instructions on removal on top , as follows after unscrewing the lid drill a small hole in the lid as marked then, then drill a holesaw 50 mm is ok at the lower end as marked making sure up have a clean garbage bag to drill out then with tape bag after removing the drill and then insert air hose and blow bean bag beans into the bag making sure up do this on a table to help with the flow of beans , remove rubber bands remove the four screws and lift out model , check for damage , the result model is in as good as condition as it left , bonus bean bag top up for the grand kids so that us how I shipped a model half way across the world undamaged with suitable this way up signage on box , just wanted to share so others can do the same not a lot of extra weight as the Bean Bag Beans weight next to nothing tassie48
