Which Brushless motors?
« on: November 24, 2024, 04:26:26 pm »

Via email to Mayhem ....

I have a 42" fast scale launch, and wish to fit a pair of out runner motors, and plan to drive 3 blade 2" props. Am I thinking of Surpass 850kv motors on S2 batteries to give me 5000 rpm max. I am I thinking right or can anyone help please .

Thanks Phill

850kv on 7.4 volts is just over 6000rpm, not 5000.  Should be fine but I'd go with a larger outrunner like a 42mm 600kv on 3S for the same RPM with better torque characteristics.
